Am I just paranoid?

Around last weekend, both my TV service and internet were very erratic for about 3 days. I had no On Demand service and the Ready light on my modem kept flashing, with no internet service. As I have a backup internet line and don't use On Demand, I decided to do nothing (apart from re-boot about twice a day). Lo and behold, everything came back eventually and there's no doubt that it's much better - more stable TV with no 'service not available' on the programme guide and blistering internet speeds.
My theory is that VM are doing work (which involves interruption of services) which they don't tell us about and which never appears on the status page or recorded messages.

your right more than likely was service improvements [if you can call it that?]
or someone had mucked something up [ie roadworks through some line?]

Nah they are just out to get you, while you are asleep little men come out of your comp and do searches for bad things on your hard drive.
