If I ask VM will they tell me if I am being ‘Traffic Managed?’

I am on 20MB and up to about 5 weeks ago was happy; 20MB in the evenings was obtainable.

I downloaded a DVD from LoveFilms.com (4GB) speeds still ok during and after that night.
Then the following day “BOOM” rubbish speeds.

Even now on a Sunday morning at 08:00 struggles to go above 900K downloading direct from VM site, that test file site.

My only usage is playing World of Warcraft for a few hours each evening and some browsing, once in a blue moon might buy a DVD from LoveFilms.com

I Just want to know if there is anything on my account that limits my speed before I go through the long draw out process of falling out with VM
and the depressing going backwards and forwards of them telling me it is my setup etc etc.

Thanks in advance.

Don't think it's traffic management because on a 20Meg connection your speeds should drop to around a steady 640 KB/s for download and 24 KB/s upload

A simple way to check STM is to check your upload speed. It should normally be around 96 KB/s (768 Kb/s) and if STM has kicked in it should be 24 KB/s (192 Kb/s). Use one of the speed test websites like www.speedtest.net

My current speedtest results:
