What value should my ping be?

im suffering from slow browsing and extreme lag on xbox live, i ran various speed test and receive ping readings of around 100+ im wondering if that's the issue. i contacted virgin and they said its because i upgraded to adsl max. they said they can fix the ping but i have to revert from adsl max. what do you think guys?

ADSL MAX uses an error correction technology called Interleaving, this does cause latency across your connection to the DSLAM in the exchange. To 'fix' this they will remove the interleaving which will leave you with a fastpath connection.

There is no need to drop you completely from ADSL MAX as you can request that they ask BT to remove interleaving.
