Well buy now and save a load of cash, what with it going up 14p a bottle.

Providing it stored correctly should keep ages.

What??? Total rubbish, you obviously know nothing about wine.

How long you can store wine depends on the grape type in the wine

I do no nothing about wine, I cannot stand the stuff.

Can you please tell me what is a good wine (non bank breaker)that will keep, so I can get some for my sister who does drink it.

Depends on what you class as a long time, 3 days in our house is a long time for a bottle of wine to last without opening it. :D

A good wine is a wine that the drinker likes the taste of. Personally im currently a fan of Argentinian Malbec's (same as French Cahors) and American Zinfandels, both of which you can get a good supply of in to £5-£10 bracket.

Although i baulked you comment, most wines (red) will keep for up to 3-5 years. However certain Beaujolais dont keep very long and 3 years would be the limit, Nouveau doesnt keep traditionally more than 3 months.

Whites dont tend to keep so well however there are some whites that do better to be cellared for some time.

When you buy from a supermarket you have to consider the fact that 99% of the wine sold in the supermarket is being sold to drink now.
