The speed in Cleethropes has been pretty stable (apart from a couple of glitches) but over the last few weeks I have noticed when downloaing from newsgroups my steady 20MB is up and down all over the place and mostly staying round about the 10Mb, to be honest I haven't seen it at the full 20MB for the last couple of weeks

just wondered if anybody else was experiencing problems ?

I am using giganews by the way :)

*** after reboot of modem this is my log ***

Try doing a forward and reverse tracert to giganews, maybe their is a problem with the routing?

Although my 20meg has been like that ever since the upgrade right up until the last couple of days when I have noticed full speed whenever I have tried a download. Even got 18.6 at 5.30pm on Fri, I think it was, so I dunno, maybe I got the speed you lost. :) Only joking.

Using the speed test I got 1 Mb and 3 Mb on my 20 MB connection :(

Last night I upgraded my giganews account to 20 connections and ssl and now have full speed :). So could it be VM throttling newsgroups ? or was 10 Mb of mine out on the pull on Saturday night ?? Or was Mick using my bandwidth as well :)

I will have to check next weekend as well :)
