I've seen a few posts which indicate that 2Mb service will become 4Mb but nothing very concrete. Is this a rumour, or something more? If so, when do we expect this?

I've only skimmed link1, because the other links show that you did not read the question correctly ;)
Apologies - I misread the OP.
it's a rumour but it is quite a logical one. if they bump everyone then they are raising the bar as against the competition.
As with the 4mb that went up, it will probably eventually hgappen ofr us 2mb users.
As for when, who knows.

I would imagine when the 10mb upgrade is completed, there will be some movement on the 2mb bb. Because by the end of the year there will be 10mb, 20mb, and 50mb and I feel then it will be even harder for them to justify £18 for 2mb bb, it wouldn't surprise me if the M package went to 5mb.
PS I await any mickey taking at the end of the year!!
