This is the speed that multiple servers return. Has anyone else noticed things getting very bad in the evenings in the past 2-3 days?

Could be better, but much better than a hour or two ago. I was getting 82kbps then!

Must be a problem somewhere.
I'm on 4mb and haven't been overdoing it today whatsoever.

NNTP is running at full speed so can only presume there's a problem somewhere.

But as I say, I've tried multiple servers, not just speedtest.net ones.

unfortunately not - it's a 20Mb connection, or, at least..it's supposed to be :(

This weekend, I have had,

1) 400-600 ms ping for significant periods
2) 1-2 meg downlod speed

Haven't been kicked off yet though.

virginmedia.support.broadband.cable is full of people with speed problems.

But unfortunately it seems that you might have to have one of them there "faces that fit" to get any response..
Still, nice to see NNTP etiquette alive and well.

It`s strange days when Speedtest.net is giving me good results:confused:
Either way,our 20Mb has been top notch for about 3 months now.

Shame about the few months prior to that of course but hey.....it was a laugh if nothing else:angel:
