I am moving to a new pc, which has vista. My old ntl software isn't any good anymore, so i need a new installer. Where can i get this from??

You don't need the NTL software for your broadband to work.

Just switch off the modem, plug in all your cables, switch modem back on, and you should be working.

Assuming he is using Ethernet, and not USB..

yes ethernet, new modem doesnt have usb anymore! Thanks, for some reason i didnt think about restarting the modem! lol
