No Broadband on PC

Is there a problem with BB connection in Cardiff. I can't access it on my desktop, but I can do so on my wireless laptop connection. The desktop figuressticks at Sent 237 and Received 181. The laptop shows five figures. I'm not a techie, so that doesn't mean much to me. Could someone help please, don't want to ring the dreaded 0906 number!

So I'm guessing you've got a router? If one computer is working, but not the other then the problem will be either with the router or the computer itself. Nothing to do with VM.

Is there any way of testing the router, or is it just a case ov buying new one

try connecting the PC directly to the modem, that way you either rule out the router or the PC.

Have you tried power-cycling (turning off, waiting a bit and powering on) the router and modem?

I can now access the Web on my laptop but my connection is unsecured.Whenever I try to secure it, the phone line cuts out.Weird. Still can't access the Web fom my PC. Tried a new router, didn't ork

It's to do with the DNS settings but can't do anything now because my keyboard has packed in. It never rains, but it pours!!!!
