I have been told that if you fail the credit check this offer is now available on a PAYG basis, offer started on the 3rd dec until the end of Jan, price still only £10 a month.

Offer can be taken out via the Virgin Media website, Virgin Media / Mobile stores and also from Virgin Mobile's telesales team.

I'm not after the hassle of dealing with people at VM - if it's true then I'd sign up over the net. Dealing with real people at VM is the way to a lot of heartache. :)

I have found out a bit more, its only available if you fail the credit score, if you do then you can get this deal on a PAYG basis.

I think you will find that the Virgin Mobile customer care is one of the best and you shouldnt have an issue.

How would PAYG work on 300mins a month and 300 texts a month?

How would PAYG work on 300mins a month and 300 texts a month?

You get a bundle added each month on the same date. You just need to make sure you have the £10 PAYG balance on that date. The credit gets taken and you have the 300 mins and 300 texts addded.

Well I've just signed up - went here (http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html/bundles/virginmobileoffer.html)and entered my details - it then gave me the option to pick either PAYG or contract. Selected PAYG and paid 10.99 for the sim and P&P and it's all done!

PDF is the sign up page. :)

I had an old virgin PAYG phone, bought a new mobile with another network then found out about the 300 + 300 offer two days later. I so didn't want to txt everyone my new contact details.

I gave them a ring, to buy one, then told them i had an old Virgin sim, they just swapped my old number to 300+300 there and then. Been sweet as a nut ever since, no problems in the last 6-8 months Iv'e been using it. So was a big thumbs up from me on that score. Saved a great deal of trouble, informing a whole host of people and companies.

If you need a phone for this, head to Woolworths and get the Sagem My220x for just £9.99

It's not high on features, but is so incredibly slim in both price & size - alternately, Carphone Warehouse (my local one) had stacks of Nokia 2310's on Virgin, also at £9.99

But the Woolies one, didn't even have to buy airtime with it!

My new phone turned up yesterday - I only ordered it at 5pm Sunday. The SIM took a week (ordered it last Tuesday). So far it's been great - the bundle went on finea nd the £40 free credit with the phone made it the cheapest place to buy it from.

The one thing to watch for is overcharging for the SIM. It states on the site FREE but they take £10 from your card to get it. When you get it the £10 is on it but the booklet says that the first £10 is on them (for your first bundle).

I had to call them last night and get them to add anther tenner on. not to difficult when I got away from their South African call centre!

Still it's a great deal on PAYG.
