Hi, ive been experiencing bad download speeds for quite some times now but have just got on with it until now. Im on VMs Broadband Size L package and im getting download speeds of around 30-150kb/s. (only if i use a download manager can i achieve speeds of over 100kb/s) Ive also carried out numerous Broadband Speed Tests which confirm the poor performances.

Now i believe the two possible reasons to be my downstream receive power level which is -9.27 and possibly the fact that i still have an old ntlworld:100 cable modem. Ive tried contacting VM Broadband Support only for it to just ring and ring and ring...are they all on holiday ffs? Very frustrated...

Anyone got any tips as of what i could do?
Is my download receive power level to low?
Is the old ntlworld cable modem affecting performance?
How the hell do i go about getting a techie round if noones answering the VM broadband support calls?

You'd need a tech.
Are you using this number 0906 212 1111

Yup, and ive got an answer for the first time in 4 attempts this week, anyways he reckons that my downstream receive power level is -0.05 and that everything is fine, yet when i go to 192.168.100.1 it blatently reads -9+. What is this about? Could it be my old linksys router? Im gonna go direct and see what it reads then.
