After trawling through google and looking at all the info, none seem to have the same problem, (typical)!
I have a neovia lcd tv with one scart
a goodmans dvd recorder with 2 scarts
vm box with 2 scarts and 1 aerial port

i have finally managed to get a picture through my dvd but the vm picture is terrible and the analogue is fine. What could be the problem? Have i set it up wrong is it the connections? I have bought new scart leads.
i have it set up like this:

scart from tv to dvd
scart from cable to dvd
aerial into dvd , out of dvd into cable box.

all help gratefully received.
;)

What I think you need is to send the DVD and V box out scarts to a scart splitter block (you can normally pick them up in game for about £20, near the console accessories), then send that scart splitter into the TV.

I am not sure what the purpose of sending an aerial into the v box is. I can see why for the DVD player, so you can record off analog. Maybe it should go to the TV instead.

thanks for that, i have got a splitter box but has not cured the problem. it just sends mixed messaged, sound from one channel and picture from another!

your set up should be:
Scart from TV to VM box.
Scart out of VM box to DVD

Have a look at this (http://support.sony-europe.com/tutorials/tv/diagrams/diagrams_sd.asp?l=en&ct=tv) page.

Tick the boxes on what you want to connect & it will show you a diagram.
