Erm, can someone do me a favour and check the service status page for waltham forrest E17 area ?

I have lost 99% connectivity since 1pm.

My dns servers 194.168.6.100 194.168.4.100 (from IP config) are completely unavailable, can't even ping them. I only got onto this site by using an alternate DNS server I know of.

I also have very limited connectivity. I can hit this site and BBC news site but very little else. I cannot get onto www.virginmedia.com or any of my works websites although routing seems ok I get no response from the webservers. It's as if port 80/443 (and others) is blocked.

I have tried calling VM and the service status number but it is not working. They told me to call the prem rate number but it's engaged all the time or they fail to pick up.

The faults premium rate line does get answered eventually - I've averaged 3-4 minutes of ringtone. It's can't be answered with a "your call is in a queue" type message as that would mean you get charged for being on hold.

The status pages shows:Customers in Waltham Park, Romford and Ilford may currently be experiencing intermittent browsing.
from around 2:45 pm today. Fault still open at time of this post.

The net is mostly down for me as well (Ilford area). Although my brother seems to be able to get onto Xfire and Steam, nothing else is working.

A little hint, put this number in your mobile:

0800 052 4315

Its a free service status line. You can find it on the back of your bill also. Saves you from calling India when its a known fault.

Broadband was also down in my area yesterday, so I thought I would phone the service status line. As I didn't have it written down anywhere, I looked at the back of my bill. The only number on there is the general CS number (0845 454 1111). There was no service status number or broadband faults number.

btw...the service status number given on VM's website (which I have now put in my phone book) is given as 0800 561 0061
