I'm having problems today with my 20MB broadband service in NG16. All has been fine since I moved in 2 months ago. I suddenly lost service at approx 10:30am this morning.

The Cable Modem log is showing:

Ready light is flashing on the modem. Occassionally it goes off and the Sync light flashes.

Virgin are sending out an engineer on Wednesday but something tells me that its more of a network problem.

Does anyone have any ideas or is anyone else in NG16 suffering similar problems?

I've now noticed that in the "Operation Configuration" of the cable modem web based control panel, it says "Network Access: Denied".

Does this mean that I've been blocked from the Virgin Media network for some reason?

I have been downloading more than usual over the last 72 hours (probably over 10GB). Typically I wouldn't be downloading that in a month.

Surely when I called Support earlier there would have been a note on my account to say I've been blocked??

No problems here.

I've just unplugged the coax from the wall box and the modem, left for a minute and then reconnected.

Service came straight back up again.

I'm interested to know what effect me unplugging the coax has compared with simply rebooting the router? Does anyone know?

I changed my service from 4 to 20 meg , 2 days ago, and about 30 mins after the whole lot went off, flashing lights the lot, 20 odd phone calls later still no joy.

Just came up, but with very bad speeds about 200k ish a sec, thats worse than the 4 meg i was on before.

Im in the NG17 aera just for the record.
