hi can someone advise?
i've had to reformat and reload windows due to a serious regisitary error. ntl broadband was working fine before. when it came to reloading ntl(virgin) broadband i have a problem with no interent connection as set up can't complete - it can't connect to the ntl server for registration, etc.
the error i get is '.......system is able to do a DHCP release\renew, you do have raw connectivity....., but your system is unable to PING these IP addresses to the outside....( two addresses are shown)' error code 9 (but i can't find the explantion of the codes in help or elsewhere?).
i know the hardware is ok - the internet connection works with a wireless laptop. so i ssume this is a set up problem with settings on the computer.
can anyone help.

ps i have a cable (series 100) modem and connection is via erthenet. in device manager all devices appear to be working, no conflicts are shown.
