.. biggest pile of crap I've ever heard, tomorrow I believe there going to be receiving a phone call.

well it must be widespread and happening regular because this is like a daily occurence now once or twice a day for an hour or 2 at a time whereas shaping lasts 4 hours and sometimes im not even in shaped hours when it goes balls up.

I wonder if I downgrade to 10mb would it still stay the same? And would I save some money?

I think you would just get max of 10MB if you did that. The problems won't scale

1st 128K took 452 ms = 289982 Bytes/sec = approx 2413 kbits/sec
2nd 128K took 387 ms = 338687 Bytes/sec = approx 2818 kbits/sec
3rd 128K took 475 ms = 275941 Bytes/sec = approx 2296 kbits/sec
4th 128K took 441 ms = 297215 Bytes/sec = approx 2473 kbits/sec

The usual pants speeds that we've been getting all along on our 20480kbps connection...

We've been visited and had our cable modem poked. I asked them not to as it's never going to solve a thing, but they insisted. The technician agreed and said he'd pass on that it must be a local congestion problem. Nothing's happened.

I repeated that process over a year........ten days till BT come to install line so I can get bethere....Wooo Hoo!!
MY VM line/UBR is seriously flaky, going from sustained periods of well under a meg to ,occasionally, 16 or so. After a year, engineers finally said a repull was needed, but hey, too late, I'd already cancelled and am going elsewhere, also taking my phone and TV services with me and away from VM.
All I feel now is satisfaction i finally took the plunge and banished VM from my household.
