Is this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wireless-G-Broadband-Router-SpeedBooster-802-11g/dp/tech-data/B0002LHXB6/ref=de_a_smtd/026-5656432-6006820 wireless router compatibe with 20mb virgin cable broadband?

I am quite good at computing and networking, but i am new to cable, so I am a little bit :monkey:

hi,
as long as you are connecting through the virgin tv cable network i.e stb or seperate modem that is NOT connected though the telephone line.:D

Thx mate, I am connecting it thorugh teh virgin cable modem

Funny thing is, i already purchased teh router of amazon, and asked if it is compatible after :confused:

A second question, Does it have any problems with windows vista?
I don;y think there should be any issues as my 2 older routers work but still ???

yep definately works i've got the exact same one running 2 computers with vista on

great, thx mate, that really did make me happy, but not to happy.

Just wondering How many ethernet ports does the virgin modem have, as the virgin team have not came to my house yet? ( the standard modem which virgin supply for 20mb bb)

just one unfortunatly could have done with more but hey it's free :rolleyes:

Just to make sure , This is going to be the setup, I know i Hvae an obsession with things b4 i actually hvae it

Anyway, A ethernet cable is going from my pc to my router. An network wire is going from my cable modem to my router.

I didn't think any modems could have more than 1 port. That's what routers and switches are for, surely?

I think your right but what if you got a modem and router in one surely you got one port for the modem and a few more for the router
