internet upgrade

hey i currently have 4mb service through set top box but i am thinking of upgrading to the next speed up which as i understand i would need to have the internet through a modem instead ?

how long does it take for the enginer to fit the net through a modem ?

do virgin media give me a free modem or have i gotta buy one ?

modem is free
and getting it fitted i very much dependant on tech availability

i think there should b an option for a "quickstart" modem
basically they send you it in the post and you plug it in yourself
might work out quicker

Are you ex-NTL or ex-Telewest.
The reason I'm asking is that the ex-Telewest set top box
has only ever been able to give a 1mb service.
So check it out, incase some numpty from Sales or Customer
Service has upgraded you without fully knowing their job
or the services on offer.
