I rang Virgin today to see what they could offer, as although my 2Mb cable service is reliable it is a fraction of the 6.5Mb my BT line will support on ADSL Max, and that several of my neighbours are receiving reliably. I ended up with a 4Mb half-price deal for 3 months.
However what really bothered me was that the Virgin retentions staff were trying to tell me that ADSL Max is only available to business customers, when I know that ADSL Max is rate adaptive technology used to optimise the max stable speed the BT line will support for residential broadband customers!
