I recently got my VM broadband installed in my upstairs bedroom, I have VM cable TV downstairs and I was wondering if it is possible to take the wire out of the VM cable box and plug it straight it in to my cable modem so i can connect it my xbox 360? Would I need a 2 way splitter or something?

In theory it would work. Problem is that swapping connections over, especially on a regular basis will inevitably end up with wear on a connector or even breakage of a cable. Sooner or later you will kill your connections.

You'll be better off avoiding all the fiddling and getting your self a router to permantely share your broadband with your Xbox and PC via ethernet or wireless connections.

Thanks. I just wanted to make another broadband outlet for downstairs. I need to get a router since my netgear one is only compatible with ADSL connections. I just wanted a tempory stop-gap solution.
