No - I'm having something far, far darker than a mid-life crisis. I'm having a "mother crisis". Definition: when mother is intent on buying something and nothing on this earth can stop her.

She wants to buy me something special for my birthday, given the number. I don't do bling at all. I wear a simple silver chain, bought for my 21st, and that's it. So I sort of agreeded (gave up) to a bracelet, but I do like the string ones - like I've seen Asians wearing.

How about this for that rugged look. (http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/2233985/Trail/C%24cip%3D50518.Jewellery%2Band%2BWatches%3EC%24ci p%3D50572.Men%26%2339%3Bs%2Bjewellery%3EC%24cip%3D 50575.Men%26%2339%3Bs%2Bwristwear.htm):D

Or this one for its powers (http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/2233930/Trail/C%24cip%3D50518.Jewellery%2Band%2BWatches%3EC%24ci p%3D50572.Men%26%2339%3Bs%2Bjewellery%3EC%24cip%3D 50575.Men%26%2339%3Bs%2Bwristwear.htm) and it would also tie in with the silver that you wear.:)

Tiger eye is used to increase wealth and vitality. It enhances courage, brings passion and physical strength, and allows these attributes to be tempered with mental clarity and a joyful outlook.

Looks like I'm up alone and it's getting a bit scary the wind has just started howling. I think I'd better go to bed.

More of a bondage look :erm: :D

wot, like these?
Close but - elephant hair :erm: They have people who shave elephants?? And what about the danger of attracting a bull elephant? Could be nasty.

There's a guy at work who has them - will ask him about them, see what he says. I'm pretty sure there's a name for them, and they have a meaning

gc,

my children wear them, and they are (usually) made by a friend and given to them (hence the name, friendship bracelet  ).

Get your mum to make one for you - best of both worlds (it's personal, made by her own fair hands, and you can tell her what design you would like).

The indian ones are called Rakhi, and it's all part of a tradition where the girls tie them around their brothers wrist

If you want to buy them, your best bet is to find out where a large Indian shopping area is in Leeds and go there - if you have any indian friends they could probably tell you.

Yes - nice chap at work explained it all to me. They're only a few quid, which might be slightly less than my mum was expecting to pay.

I have seen some nice metal ones on the Beaverbrooks website - expensive though :disturbd:
