Macabre subject I know, but what song(s) would you like played at your funeral and why?
1. Debbie Taylor - "I don't wanna leave you".
In my estimation the best and most passionate female vocal performance ever committed to record. Whilst the subject matter isn't about death but a broken marriage / relationship this song can reduce even the hardest of men to pensive contemplation. Mrs Angry, and anyone with a heart and ears, will dig this choice of song.
2. Foo Fighters - "Learn to fly".
The unique drum pattern had myself and colleagues befuddled for months as to how it was arrived at. Rhythmically the song makes no sense yet it's perfect musically. I think Grohl excelled himself lyrically, musically and vocally on this particular track. A lot of my mates from my past profession would "get this".

Deelite - Groove is in the Heart. Just for giggles really. I used to wear Pucci hot pants and do the dance in my clubbing days.
Michael Buble - Song for You. *swoon*

Lustral - Everytime (Way Out West remix)
Can you hear me,
Talking in my mind.
I can feel you,
You're with me all the time.
Everytime I close my eyes,
I see your face.
Everytime I close my eyes,
I see your face
There's a warm sky,
covering the night.
In the darkness,
I only feel the light.
Everytime I close my eyes,
I see your face.
Everytime I close my eyes,
I see your face.
Everytime I close my eyes,
I see your face.
When I'm lonely,
your voice is in my head.
And my memory feeds my soul,
with all the things you've said.
Everytime I close my eyes,
I see your face.
Everytime I close my eyes,
I see your face.
Everytime I close my eyes,
I see your face.
Other possibilities:
Chicane - No Ordinary Morning
Barber - Adagio For Strings

Ashes to Ashes, maybe, or The Drugs Don't Work? Spirit in the Sky. Knock on Wood (en lid). First Cut is the Deepest. Um - I'll think of more in time.
Amazing Grace or Abide With Me - guaranteed to get the hankies out.
Apparently "Queen - Another One Bites The Dust" is quite popular.

For Poops and giggles.....
Meatloaf - Bat out of hell. Just for comic value.
Or maybe The Divine comedy - my Lovely horse. Just for pure randomness.
Or for getting out the hankies.....
Five for fighting - 100 Years.
U2 - With or without you.
Jimmy Eat world - Hear you me.
But Realisticly....
U2 - Beautiful day or Queen- Bohemian rhapsody. They are the only two songs I have never gotten bored of and cant see myself getting bored of in the future.

An Ending (Ascent) - Brian Eno
Apart from the resonance of the title (if you're into the heaven thing...) it is a track that can evoke either joy or melancholy, depending on your mood...

Sandy Denny - Who knows where the time goes,
Eva Cassidy - Over the rainbow &
Fairport Convention - Meet on the ledge.
Hmm! Can't think of any at the moment..However I'd far rather be planning what to play at other people's funerals.:grind:
There are several
Bat out of Hell - Meat Loaf (already mentioned)
Life is a lemon and I want my money back - Meat Loaf
or to try and put a smile on the faces of the mourners
A classic but rarely heard Elvis Presley hit:
Are you lonesome to night (the laughing version)
Instead of singing "do yo gaze at your doorstep and picture me there" he sings "Do you gaze at your bald head and wish you had hair" he then sees a bald headed bloke in the front row and starts laughing and can barely finish the song.

TIME - Pink Floyd
Every year is getting shorter
Never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to nought
Or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desparation is the English way
The time is gone
The song is over
Thought I'd something more to say
Alive and kicking - Simple Minds
Keep young and beautiful - Annie Lennox
Back from the dead - Babyshambles
Livin' thing - Beautiful South/ELO
