Is anybody else having problems connecting to certain websites espically sipgate.co.uk. If I go through a proxy it connects fine but with going straight out via my NTL virgin broadband it stopped working on Friday. I have a Voip service with them & because it cant connect, it wont let me register my Voip phone !!

Is it a temp glitch or are they stopping us getting to certain websites as part of their traffic shaping ??

it works ok for me in Cleethorpes - sorry, I know that doesn't help....

I'm surprised about the proxy dance, though, they have been turned off here for ages ?

wonder if it just dn35 ? or just my connection ??

I have done a tracert and it gets as far as hop 4 (nott-t3core-1b-ge-117-0.inet.ntl.con [195.182.175.149] before timing out & why does it seem to be just one web addy ??

You might want to try flushing your DNS?

Use command prompt ipconfig /flushdns

Here is what mine does, might turn my modem off overnight and see if I connect to differnt hop and see if that solves the problem :)

looks like you are on a different UBR to me, your routing over those first few hops is completely different, to mine...

Is this just a standalone PC or through a home network?

Is this just a standalone PC or through a home network?

its on a home network on vista PC, xp laptop & mac osx.

I have a netgear router pre-configured for sipgate which then goes into a switch. I have tried plugging my pc straight into the cable modem but it is just the same :(

I can get to sipgate, although it's very slow and routes through nott-t3core-1a.

I am having problems elsewhere - with a blockage at nott-t3core-1b as well, I think they have a routing problem there. nott-t3core-1a seems to work, but nott-t3core-1b is having problems to some sites.

I'm in Lincoln

cheers it seem to be the nott=t3core-1b that is causing problems, will wait till tue and then log it as a fault if it not fixed by then :) as I am not using my mobile to phone then ;)

I also live in Nott.s and get my broadband through Virgin (ex NTL), and also lost connection to Sipgate account on Friday. Also I can't get to www.sipgate.co.uk. I've tried this via another provider and it works fine (at first I thoughts Sipgate had gone t*ts up.

Hi,

Please excuse the spelling, getting lazy in my old age, latest news from Virgin Media this morning ( Tuesday ) is that the problem should be rectified by early this afternoon.

Fingers Crossed.

Cheers,

Adrian.
