I'm not in the Peterborough area, but I did briefly lose my connection earlier this afternoon. Probably just network updates.

Maybe someone down your street is getting VM, and the pulled the wrong wire :)

Or maybe someone returning home from a night at the pub urinated on the paving, the acid went through the slabs and reacted with the wire disintigrating it on contact. In other words, I doubt it. :p:
