I have changed mac address about 20 times but keep getting an IP address beginning with 77.97. ( each time the full address does change, BTW).

I am sure that this is the reason I cannot access the web page www.shareaza.com

If I enable the blueyonder webcache proxy or go through any other proxy server access is restored.

Virgin tech seem unable to give me an IP address starting 82 or 6x.

Also, the website http://www.internetfrog.com/ cannot locate me...

What happens when you ping www.shareaza.com ?

(Windows: Start -> Run -> cmd -> type: ping www.shareaza.com)

VM are not unable to give you a different IP address because your local uBR is only given a specific range or "pool" of addresses, so for the moment you will have to use a proxy, indeed, that is what they are there for.

I can ping shareaza suprisingly, but cannot access it in any browser without using a proxy.

That's OK for web browsing, although not without its disatvantages, as you will know.

However, this is impacting p2p IMO, as proxies only work on http.

I was very happy when my IP began with 80,82 etc.
