Recently a lot of sites I enter ( including cable forum ) open up in the minimised size and I have to enlarge by clicking top right box. Even I I scroll them large next time they open it's back to small window. Is it the site or a setting on my computer. Any thoughts.
Ta.

Drag the window to the size you need and while pressing ctrl close the window . New windows should open that size now

Tried that once, didn't work. Tried again holding control down while I dragged to size and shut down and it worked. Some sites didn't respond but I'll persevere.
Thanks.

Internet Explorer does not open maximized when you click on the short cut in the Start menu.

Freeware Utilities:
http://www.jiisoft.com/iemaximizer/Screenshots.aspx
http://www.brianapps.net/sizer.html

You might also consider installing:
Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx as iirc, it has some settings that are applicable to IE and one of them is\was to maximi(z)se IE's windows.

Alternatively, there is this method that used to work some years ago:

Open two instances of the IE window - enlarge them and whilst holding down the 'shift' key, close each one in turn.

Maximize, then close using File, Exit, rather than the Red X top Right.
Bingo - Opens up full size every time
