Hey guys... Finally got my new 4 mb connection last week friday... (missed my first appointment due to 'avoid school run'....)

But I am very pleased with the speed and I have had no problems what so ever except a dodgey Belkin N1 USB adapter... which will be changed by pcworld 2moz (if they are open) or mon / tues...

Here is my speed over wireless:

Here is my speed over wired (not much diff.):

Another good point about my new conenction is the constant, steady ping during online gameing. I have not "lagged" at all when playing... I can now play on NA (american servers) and aussie servers without teleporting / lagging... and on EU servers i always have a constant low ping :p:

I can download music tracks on average (depending on no. of seeds) in about 30 seconds... max 1-2 mins..

Film (750mb approx) 30-35 mins... i just downloaded Need For Speed Carbon demo as a test (650 mb) and it was done in about 18-20 mins... got a constant 500 kbs ... I love the fact that you get more "speed" for your money. VM advertises 4mb... and I get 5mb... sometimes a lil more... but with TIscali whom i was before i moved.. 2mb was more like 1mb or 1 1/2 mb  ... so i am very very happy

now all i want is the 10mb connection and when the time comes 20mb connection... but its alotta money.... so i will probz stick with 4mb... hopefully i get upgraded to 10mb and keep paying 4mb rate (£17.99.. or w/e it is) ..

Thnx for reading my post ^^ Happy Easter...

Thats coz this person is actually getting MORE than what they have payed for. People complain becoz they are getting LESS than what they have paid for!:disturbd:

VERY HAPPY with my 4meg connection. (Was that loud enough?) The OP won't be quite so chuffed when he discovers he's paying £25 though. Interestingly, I get about 5meg on my BT max connection ('up to' 8meg) which costs £26.99 a month, so there's really not a lot of difference. While I'm on here, is it right that we will be upgraded automatically to 10meg soon? How much will it cost?

Yes i to am delighted with my 4mb connection, and always have been.

I would like to think virgin will do a speed increase soon , makeing it 8/10 meg would be more usefull to virgin aswell, then they could advertise against these false upto ADSL services provided by others.

When i spoke to customere services the other day upgarding to V+ box, i asked about the speed upgrade, he said "we are just guessing the speed will be increased on the 4 meg service because everytime the top tier has been upgarded the others tiers have followed".

i download dureing the day (a lot of the itme wen i am on usenet) but never to full speed i limit to 600kb/s and i can get that constant so 5 meg speed minimum even dureing peak hours, it is pretty damn good

Makes no difference here.

Same speed at anytime of day. 1.18MB/s
