My speed on various tests is under 1Mb. A 30Mb file was showing 7 mins to download. My connection passses through a wireless router, but is cabled all the way.

This is much slower than the 4Mb connection I had before the VIP upgrade on Friday.

Problems with V+ too. See my thread on V+ site.

Try connecting the PC directly to the Modem

Do you have a stand alone modem?
Like.. a modem that is maybe small , black , and connects through your Ethernet Port on your computer.. or second best .. connects through a usb.

A new ext modem is now in use instead of using the cable modem on the old sammy box.

Connect the PC directly to the modem and cut out the router for now, also boot into safe mode w/networking and test it.

A new ext modem is now in use instead of using the cable modem on the old sammy box.

so you were getting 4mbit/s on the old sammySTB, now your getting 1mbit on the new stand alone modem, a blue NTL250? , check your current cable settings by going to http://192.168.100.1
log in as root password as root and check
http://192.168.100.1/CmOpConfig.asp
for 10mbit (ex C&W/ex NTL) its
Network Access : AllowedMaximum
Downstream Data Rate : 10240000 Maximum
Upstream Data Rate : 512000 Maximum
Upstream Channel Burst : 1600Maximum Number of CPEs : 1

if its not that, then they didnt send the new modem hit and they/it put you on the wrong package or its defaulted to the
minimum speed.

phone em up, or you can auto upgrade the current setting right now by using the online upgrade page , takes about 1 minute until the hit comes through and you get the modem reset, far better useing that option at this time of night.

to downgrade later if you want, they make you ring them up though as that auto downgrade option isnt on the website.

i cant find the direct url right now so this might work for you after you put in your postcode ect and get taken to the 10bit upgrade

Ive had this same problem, but my dad rang up last night and sorted it out. The fella on the phone showed him how to change the frequency. We first signed up to blueyonda years ago and because we were on a very old frequency it was going slow, on the new one im now getting speeds of nearly 6mb, still not the full 10mb, but its better than 900k.
