Help with windows vista and activing the modem pin

Ive got Broadband installed yesturday with a 255 modem. but Ive got a laptop with windows vista on. I know the modem needs a pin to active this. I have the pin - but i know when you install the cd on other windows version it asks you for the pin. as the software doesn't work for vista is there another way in doing it to active this so the modem will connect.???
