on vm 10mbit, have been since telewest released broadband, but recently in the evenings my connection will cut out for around 3 hours at a time, then just start working again. checked the levels and normally (now) it runs at 40dbvm, but when it cuts out I can see the power sat at 58dbvm. Located in birmingham, UBR01 Perry barr i think if thats anything, but im pretty sure its just isolated to my road.

ps: the downstreams etc are fine, so i can recieve from vm, but the upstreams are skyrocketing, so i cant send.

Anyone got a clue what it could be?

If you are hitting 58dbmv then you need an engineer to visit and adjust your levels.

adjust my levels for the whole street though? because its me and all my neighbours who are cut off too, not just my house.

Might be a fault in your local cab.

you need a network tech to set levels in amplifier [located in street cab] only takes a couple of minuets

you wouldnt believe how hard it is to get a network engineer out. Eventually have one booked for monday, and it better get fixed, i t.hink its been out for about a weeks worth of actual hourly usage
