Got same here in Blackpool, with a webstar modem. There is a post in virginmedia.discussion.broadband about 25meg trial in North West. :) However, speedtests show only getting 4-5meg down :(

hmm, what server is that on, its not listed on news.ntlworld.com

Of Course that
QoS max upstream bandwidth = 768000 bps
QoS max downstream bandwidth = 25000000 bps
makes for even werse ratio than before....

at 20 Mb as apposed to the reported current 25Mb of this thread , its slightly better, but doesnt it also make it the countrys werst ratio if they stick to the assumed 768kbit/s Maximum up....

I am also in the Preston area like the original poster who reported speeds of 25mb,Virgin just completed a upgrade today for my postcode upgrade ready for the 20mb rollout i did a quick download from newsgroups and got a around a constant 2800KB/s download and a upload of around 100 -110KB/s

Although my speeds now seem to be 20mb there is still no change in the config details of my modem.

Link to screenie as img tag doesnt seem to be working:

That's exactly what I'd prefer rather than my 4Mb down, 0.4Mb up.

news.ntli.net

Great speed but rubbish retention as with most ISP Newsgroups.
