Hi has anybody else lost there connection to the internet and not able to log on for the past few days?
the isp is NTL:

What area are you in? Been fine here in our part of Essex. Oh and NTL do not exist anymore ;) VM is your ISP.

its not for me its for my friend its the 'HA5' (middlesex)

Yea all they said is there system down. not very helpful.
Was just wonering if it would be working again soon as
its been off since friday night.

When did your friend call them as I'm sure he should be back online by now. Has he tried rebooting his STB/ SACM?

Rang monday and as you can guess they are getting a little bit annoyed lol, erm im not to sure what u mean by 'STB/SACM' sorry.

How does your friend connect to the BB feed? Is it via the cable service through a set top box that also feeds a TV signal or through a stand alone cable modem? Or is it the ADSL type service through a telephone line?

Could be the modem or the line onto it, has your friend got any issues with his telephone service?

nope. everything fine with that. its just his internet wont connect.

Has he had a line test or changed his filters?? I would be asking VM CS why he cannot connect and as to if they have tested his line fully.

Ill ring him and get him to ring Virgin media and get a line test. cheers for reply. :) will let you know what happens as soon as i find out.

Broadband is down in the Oxford area aswell, phoned this morning and they think it will be fixed tomorrow morning.

my went down for 2 hours, live in warrington. I am with telewest tho aka virgin media now.

my connection went down a week ago, then after an hour it worked again and fixed all my latency and transfer speed issues.
Maybe they are doing maintenance and rebooting ur cable modem?

I'm in HA8 (Middlesex) and there have been no issues at all
There have been network upgrades in Barnet and surrounding areas recently through, last few days. Not sure if HA5 covers Barnet, but does surrounding areas.

Hey thanks for all the replys the rang VM and its all working fine, the still cant connect to the internet though so VM suggested to take it into a shop and get the config's checked it worked on the internet in the shop, so the only thing it could be now if the modem right?

HA5 (Ruislip) is an ex Telewest area, are you sure about how your friend connects to the net, could it possibly be a cable modem or is it definatly an ADSL connection?
