On 20Mb I expect it will be a minimum of 768Kbps. Could be as high as 1Mbps if we're lucky.

I want great upload speeds too but I really doubt they will upgrade them.... :(

I just know that 20Mb will have less than 1Mb upload.... :(

This has been discussed in previous thread. The network can't handle high uploads.

IMHO they only people how really want this are torrent users. I can't think of anny other reason to be honest for a higher upload.

Its not necessarily the Network that can't handle the higher uploads it's the Cable Modem standard that can't

False. A higher upload speed for hosting internet games, dedicated servers and general transfers to friends or whatever would be just to name a few of the things that would welcome an upload increase.

But I agree that the network can't handle a huge increase but on 20Mbit the standard upload should be 1Mbit

What's the big difference between Britain and places like Sweden & Japan? Would it be a big job to introduce the same kind of technology they have?

They have optical fibre. We do not.

Is that a big enough difference?

It's on its way. Look at the trials in Ashford in Kent.

It will be 768K.

but they havent officialy announced a upload rate ? only the download ? perhaps it is subject to change ?

I though 20Mbps needed at least 1Mbps upstream to work properly?

It was mentioned that 512Kbps was really the bare minimum for 10Mbps, so surely 1Mbps would be the bare minimum for 20Mbps. Who knows...

My post wasn't a guess. :)

I'm with Paul, it'll be 786k.

As for bare minimums, I think it was 256k needed to support 10mb down, so in theory they could leave it at 512k for 20mb, but in practice, all web browsing would grind to a halt during a full speed download.

I'll take your money if you want.

Ill give you a nice crisp £10 if you can get me connected to 20MB 1st :D

PS I pay the proper price for my services, can i go to the top of the queue? ;)

Ex-Telewest customers are still (and have always been) on 384kbps upload.

I expect it to be 768kbps in the end.

No the upload speed will be 768k not 1 meg. Just look at 10meg on the TW network, it works just fine with a 384k upload and all your doing is doubling the download speed and upload speed from the TW side.

I am on the 2nd 20mbit trial (the first one I was on was last october) and the connection is the same, 20mbit down and 768k up. 1mbit upload would be nice.
