Ok people on here are saying there getting poor d/l speeds im on 10meg and get 9000kb/s regulary, until 3days ago

D/l speed on the same test 120kbs d/l and 400kbs u/l

BUT i do the test again i get 1meg d/l which consider on the past days is amazing, now on the virgin meadia website the say ther carring ongoing maintanence, but i will LOSE service...

To cut a long stressful story long im getting full speed, then im getting a seriously depleted speed, i play on xbox live and have just bought GRAW 2 and i keep getting booted cos the nets so bad.

Its not my modem cos iv carried out speedtests throught the day and at night....

Im going to ring tomorrow but can anyone shed any light, like people say they blame it on the router, and india are useless

Maybe its the so called broken cable, these test results are in the UK ?!

It cant be a coincidence that so many people are experiencing the same problems (but with different outcomes) hence this thread, also people iv spoke to on xbl are having same trouble in the liverpool area, as is with a few people near where i live

yes, my one seem from 3 days ago , very slow, i'm playing xbox live as well , keep disconnect from the game :-( had lost some online score in game too . but seem the speed back ok now , let see...

There are a lot of people havinf trouble with their connections just now, especially in Scotland.

Its not been right since last thursday!!!!

The d/l speeds you recorded can very much depend on the server you connect to. If they are busy you wait for the responce and therefore your d/l speed seems slow.
Looking at the times you connected to the servers and the servers you did the speed test on it may indicate why the d/l varies.
May not be a resolution.. Just a comment

Happens to me a hell of a lot, but i note i ALWAYS get disconnected at 1pm, and almost always at 4pm :( Makes playing very annoying. I connect back with 3000ms pings, which go back to 1.7sec and finally around the 200ms mark.

I wish it would be sorted :(

I haven't noticed a particular time but it's definately a VM problem. The only players in my guild who disconnect are on VM for their broadband, everyone else is fine.

I don't play any MMO's but a mate just around the corner form me who's on VM 4meg keeps getting disconnected from WOW regularly, so it may not be a 10meg only issue!

Has anybody actually thought it might be the game as it seems to be happening a lot with World Of Warcraft. I play my PS2 on the online and there is no problem also my download speed on my PC is always between 100/kbs and 120/kbs, I am on a 2mb connection...

If you read up, I mentioned that the only people in my guild who are disconnecting are VM subscribers... that's around 20 people out of 250! The problem manifests itself as a huge increase in latency, I average 60-100ms, but when it spikes I've seen it hit 4000+ ms. When I log back on, I'm back down to 60-100 ms.

I also have no problems with browsing or downloading.

I had the same trouble with graw 2 on xbox live,
(in 4 hours of trying to play i had 1 hour of actual gaming time)
as have many of my friends that arent with ntl,
including people in america,
in this case its the game and not your broadband,
the network coding is cack to say the least,
hopefully a patch will be released soon,
if not i wont be playing the game online again.

just thought id add that im on 10 meg broadband.

its not your virgin line, its speedtest.net. They dont have the capacity to give real results at this time of day (peak time).

www.dslreports.com has loads of speed tests from loads of places. Try differnt ones. I get results ranging from 2mbps to 12mbps.

Speedtest.net gives me high results during the day and crap at night.

The London server is a tad hammered atm it seems, try the Dublin one instead.

Why not just try the forum speedtest, it's located on the VM network, more reliable than going off the network to other locations.
