Hi all,

Well I have just moved from 4mb to 10mb (as part of a revised package). Now the nice young lady told me that the change in speed would be straight away, and defo within 24 hours.

Now all the changes tp my tv have happened (removed channels), but no change in speed on my internet connection. I have rebooted the box, but to no effect.

Any tips / tricks to get it to pick up the new speed, or has it just not been switched on yet?

PS - Can I get 10mb through my box? I asked the girl, and she said "yes fine, no worries", but I am not so sure - do I need a VM Modem?

Thanks.

I believe (but will soon be corrected if I am wrong) that you need a SACM to get 10mb, as STB's will only go up to about 6mb.

Thanks - for everyones info my speedtest results seem to be identical to before the switch (3900 kb/s) - so it looks like its not even switched on yet. I am guessing that when it is switched on I will be limited by the 6mb of the STB?

Also - whats a SACM??

a Stand Alone Cable Modem ;)

Nice!

In summary - sounds like
a) I haven't been switched on, and
b) I will need a SACM (requiring an VM Engineer to call??) to get 10mb

Nice Customer Service then really......
