Hi lads.

Im keeping My virgin BB after getting Rid of my phone and TV and thought i may as well ask this.

My friend has BT home HUB. Its basically connected Ethernet to one PC and on his laptop by wireless. His range on his laptop is rather good he can walk all over the house and out into the Garden and away down the lawn.

Do Virgin do a Wireless Modem? As I have the original NTL100 one.

I’m getting a new top of the range gamming pc in May and a Laptop. I fancy the laptop out the back in the Garden in the summer:cool: . Or is it just a case of getting a wireless router that’s good quality?

The BT homehub is a router. I doubt wireless modems even exist so it would be easier to get a wireless router.

The BT Homehub is a wireless ADSL modem-router. Wireless cable modems certainly exist, though handing out wireless routers would certainly be the best bet :)

The techs in the newsgroups have hinted that the free wireless router offer that was available to extelewest XL BB customers will be back for virginmedia. I don't know when though :/

I'll have to keep that in Mind for the summer Void - a free Wirless router would be nice.

That's why I don't want to go out and buy one yet.

It's the old saying though, you get what you pay for. I cant help but wonder what the quality of these free routers will be like.

Quality wise they are fine. The only bad thing is the software that comes with them. The software for the Telewest router was awful.

The one "recommended" by NTL was pretty poor as well. I eventually bought a Linksys and never regretted it.
