View Full Version : Are these speedtest results correct

tried from loads of different tests and these are my results, cant get speedtest.net to work for some reason though

1st 512K took 234 ms = 2188 KB/sec, approx 18029 Kbps, 17.61 Mbps
2nd 512K took 219 ms = 2337.9 KB/sec, approx 19264 Kbps, 18.81 Mbps
3rd 512K took 203 ms = 2522.2 KB/sec, approx 20783 Kbps, 20.3 Mbps
4th 512K took 250 ms = 2048 KB/sec, approx 16876 Kbps, 16.48 Mbps

Overall Average Speed = approx 18738 Kbps, 18.3 Mbps

Numbers seem a little high unless you are on the 20mb trial, try logging into the modem and see what speed is listed, and if you are on the 20mb, what area in Leic? I want it too... :(

Supposed to be 10meg, how do i log into my modem

Point your browser to 192.168.100.1 and log in, the username/password should both be "root" (depending on the modem) once you log in, go to the page marked
•Operation Config.

If you are on 10mb the page will show
Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 10240000
Maximum Upstream Data Rate : 512000

If the number is different, then you are on a different speed, if it shows the above, then the speed test is probably wrong.

my modem log is showing Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 10240000
Maximum Upstream Data Rate : 512000, and im getting 20 meg ??!
