I don't think it matters when you are going with cable it's only ADSL that goes on distance as far as i know,

If you are in Morley,Leeds like your username says then this is the speed you could be getting https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/local/2007/02/21.png (http://www.speedtest.net);)

This is the best speed ive had,I live in Morley.

I live in Leicester too and the people I know that have VM 10Mb actually get 10Mb compared to the ADSL alternatives.....

I have 4Mb and always get constant speeds. I wish that they would upgrade the upload speeds too but I don't see it happening for a long time yet I'm afraid..... :(

Leicester is generally decent for speeds/UBR loads.

^Would be my best speed.

In practical terms tho, it's stable at about 7½-9mb in the day, and 9mb+ at night.

VM don't officially do any package with that level of upload afaik, some people are on trials, of which the 20mb only offers 786k up, not sure about the 50mb trials, so what is going on there I dont know.
