View Full Version : Downgrade 512Kbps To 384Kbps!
Just Gave Virgin Media A Phone Call, They Said 10MB'ers Upload @ 512Kbps Was A Typo And Therefore Pretty Soon 512Kbps Upload Will Be Downgraded To 384Kbps!
That's unlikely to happen as old Telewest users currently have 384Kbps and that's in the process of being upgraded to 512Kbps which is what us 10mbit NTL folk enjoy.
^ Thats What Im Reciving At The Moment, 384Kbps (I Was With Telewest).

And that's correct and you should get upgraded to 512Kbps eventually. I'm on NTL and i get 512Kbps upload.

Any Idea When There Are Going To Upgrade My Upload To 512Kbps As I Was X-Telewest?
No idea what so ever i'm afraid, i just heard it around these forums.

There's no need to test anything. Virgin Media has confirmed that ex-telewest areas will get 512kbps upload eventually, but that they don't consider it to be a number 1 customer demand and therefore it's been put on a "to-do" list.

That's rubbish download speed for 10Mb. I got well over 5Mb from that test, while I was downloading (*cough* Linux ISOs) with bittorrent at a steady 600KB/s :/

And this not long after they said they would put it to to 1mb, you gotta laugh at the lack of communication in the support departments, it's enough to make you wonder if the people on the end of the phones really do get told anything or whether they just make this stuff up to get you off the phone.

Considering the phone call i had with them today, im pretty sure they say anything just to get you off the phone.

Aye it is, but what do you expect? NTL + Telewest + rebrand = disaster!
They should have sorted everything before rebranding, idiots!
