Budget?
About £100?
Just been on LondonNight.com and seem to have a very big choice but I know nothing about London. Is that web site ok as they seem very discounted?
Hotel Ibis are normally nice as well as cheap but it will depend on what you want to pay to be honest.
Have a look here:

A lot of sites offer discounts as they are filling gaps for hotels, hotels would rather have a room making some money than none at all.

Bedford Hotel
83 Southampton Row London WC1B 4HD (020) 7636 7822
70 quid a nite
Try Hilton group hotels and Travelodge. Last week, I had visitors staying there 27.50 and 25 quid respectively (yes, they are on a special offer)
Laterooms.com is usually very good for deals.

Whats the Savoy like?
Nice, but expensive. I had a friend that stayed there. It's very central. The only place in the UK that the cars drive on the right.
Strand Palace opposite Savoy is a cheaper option.
I paid 22 quid for a glass of red wine and a glass of fizzy water at their bar.
There are TWO Savoys. The real thing and the "Savoy Place", the latter is crap.

I stayed in a Travel Inn just behind the London Eye on the Thames (called County Hall) when I stayed there during Wimbledon. Fantastic location and about £90 a night I think.
Plus there is a nice cool bar opposite who do nice sausage sandwiches for breakfast !

Holiday Inn Oxford Street had a weekend rate (book in advance and no cancellations) for only £83 inc breakfast for two people.
Premier Travel Inn Southwark is reasonable- close to London Bridge, and room cost £80.00 (room only basis). They offer a good night's sleep guaranteed or your money back
