Will sky let me give them 2 months notice to cancel my subscription?
or cancel it there and then 2 months before?

my minimum 12 months contract ends in augst and im going on holiday in may so wont be here to call them or cancel at all,

also im gonna take my sky box and put it in the attic with the rest of the stuff so is there anyway around the callback thing?

No you cant

The only time is will be able to cancel is @ the end of your 12 month contract.

For example i had sky installed on the 11th Novemeber 2005 but i could cancel untill the 12 december 2006!!!

I would assume that it is 30 days notice?
So you could call the 11th month and give the 30 days notice, hence at the end of the 12th month you have no sky ;)

Nah ya cant do this, you can only give your 30 days notice @ the end of your 12th month. I spoke to sky only a few ago about this.

That seems odd given that I have previously done the exact thing?
You are committed for 12 months, not 13.

Maybe they didnt know what they were talking about then, because I once gave 30 days notice in my 11th month.
They just said ok your service will be turned off after the 30 day period, presumably you took their word.

You can cancel a contract at anytime!

Do not let anyone tell you different, however your are liable for any outstanding sums under that said contract!

write them a letter now giving them notice but make sure the switch off date is passed the 12 month minimum term!
