Hello :)

some questions that i cant seem to find anywhere maybe you guys can help?

i am intrested in ordering a NTL 10mb Broadband Only connection, my house has never been fitted with any NTL cables but i do know that my house is NTL capable *checked on NTL website*

how do they install it to my house and will i be charged? thats my main questions, i have links to pictures of the house but i dont want any wires going thru the front, i want it down the side passage to the garden and straight into my living room, will they charge for this? how do they run the cables exactly?

or even if a cable runs up the wall behind the drain pipe or alongside it and into the front bedroom upstairs, i could settle for that.

sorry im not good at writing letters lol but i think you know what im getting at :)

Thanks

Dan

Normaly if there is a installation fee it is a fixed price so no matter how long it takes to do the charge is the same.
With the installation get in touch with NTL and ask them to send someone out to survey and discuss a route with you.

you reckon they'll do it all for nothing??, i dont mind paying a small fee just not too much hehe, yeah theres a bug in the online quoting bit, the year 1988 is missing, yeah im 18 :), maybe if i phone em and explain the bug they'll give me the free installation. but does the free installation apply when ordering broadband only? or do you have to do the package?, i will in the future probably get the whole package but for now just want the 10mb Net hehe

free installation for everyone, you can choose the route of the cable, within reason, as long as the guy has enough time/cable to put it where you want then they will, just have a chat when he arrives you can always tell him you dont want the install if he cant put it where you wanted,

generally theyre ok though

If you look on picture 2 the swept Tee in the pavement,(in your case it's the metal cover with CATV on top next to the entry to your garden on the right as you look at picture) this is as usual not ideally placed especially in front of wall next to end of wall. It's a case of getting through wall then swinging cable left so the slabs behind wall need taking up then going down garden to the entrance on the left so as to take it down the left hand side of house. Nothing that dosen't happen on a daily basis for the installers, just got to make sure it's burried an adequate depth under slabs and also the entry point through wall the cable isn't visible on pavement side or that they damage it at this point,(which oftens happens).

Tell them where you want it running as they will naturally go for the easiest option, if what you want isn't.

P.S Get those chimneys sorted. And the cable from the LNB on the Sky dish needs sorting as well.

In picture 2 you can see a green cabinet, this is where the cable originates from and will enter your propery via the swept Tee next to your entrance to your garden with the red step. It's got the daffodil lying on it.
