Mercury Telecom Straight Talk plus plan:

Line rental and subscription paid to Mercury Telecom: £11.49 per month

Landline calls:

Calls to Mercury Telecom landlines: Free*
Daytime: 1.90p per minute plus 1p connection charge (Just under 2p per minute)
Evenings: Free*
Weekends: Free*

*Calls lasting 59 minutes will cost an additional 1p per minute, to avoid this, hang up and redial.

BT Together Option 2:

Line rental and subscription cost paid to BT: £16.50

Daytime: 3p per minute plus 3p connection charge
Evenings: Free*
Weekends: Free*

Comparison:

BT Together option 2:

3 10 minute calls to landlines on BT Together for 30 days: 99p per day
Line rental and subscription cost: £16.50
Total: £46.2p

Straight Talk plus plan from Mercury Telecom:

Three 10 minute calls to landlines on Mercury Telecom for 30 days: £5.70p
Line rental and subscription cost: £11.49
Total: £17.19

And even if you don't make any daytime calls, you still save around £5 per month due to the reduced line rental rate.

Well thats still nearly £4 more expensive than Mercury Telecom! And Telewest offers it for £17.50 incl line rental.
