It's my best mates girlfriend's birthday next week and I'm struggling to think of what to buy her don't want to buy something too personal or too impersonal:confused:
I've been thinking do other people have this problem or is it just me or is it a male thing??

Best person to ask is your mate, see what he comes up with :)

Isn't just a male thing, but an any-person thing. Some people (female or male) are just better at shopping for people, than others.

We don't know what she's into so its hard to say. Something she could use would be best, and still personal enough. CDs or DVDs would fit the bill here. If she doesn't like that, some kind of gadget that she can use to make her life more bareable. I'd avoid jewellery, clothes, etc.

Nice bottle of wine if she enjoys a drink.

I wouldnt buy my mates girlfriend a birthday present unless of course she was a mate of mine as well, in which case you should know her well enough to choose her a present.

Depends on how much you want to spend.

I'd be inclined to go to Thorntons and buy a chocolate teddy bear - usually goes down quite well if I need to buy a female colleague a pressie for the work Xmas "Bran Tub".

I still think you are best off having a word with your friend and taking it from there

Good idea, or a bottle of wine she can share with your best mate (do put it in a proper wrapper though).

See the way i read it, he will be taking both of them to a meal. So it would be them two and then a 3rd chair at the side for him.....

Because it'd be pretty homo taking a mate and his girlfriend out for a meal :p:

You'd feel like a spare wheel...
