Has anybody got any experience of using these:

here (http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=1001&productId=64274&Trail=C$cip=8156>C$cip=8189>C$cip=8190&categoryId=8190)

or here (http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=1001&productId=65161&Trail=C$cip=8156>C$cip=8189>C$cip=8190&categoryId=8190)

I have always been sceptical, but wonder why the shops continue to stock them? Do they work, or are people just gullable?

Yes they do work, results are not fantastic though.
I have one, and beleive me you cannot do your normal everyday things whilst using one. They are uncomfortable, they can hurt, toning your abs up is especially tender as it cause massive contractions any less and th emuscles dont move.

They are just a watered down version of a physiotherapy device, the interferential, used for rehabilitation. It uses electrical stimulation to cause muscle contraction. To get a good contact between the pads and your skin you need a coupling medium, either water or gel, messy and uncomfortable to apply. You are better off doing good old resistance exercises if all you want is a fitness/cosmetic effect.

You should buy yourself a nice little set of free weights..........and learn how to do crunchies properly!
