Ok, having a few problems thats got me stumped,

Have been infected with some kind of spyware (which i think is also assiciated with the porn dialers that magically apear on my desktop every so often)

the offending program is internet optimizer, this bloody thing wont even let me search ebay, i get an internet optimizer search page with the following - HELP/NAVIGATION ERROR - DNS Error
Internet Explorer cannot find http://search.ebay.co.uk/.

I have stopped its processes through ctrl - alt - del (xp)

I have run adaware (found nothing)

starting to pull hair out now.

Please help !!!!!!!

many thanks for the info, tried spybot, it found a few that adaware missed, including the porn dialers, including reg keys to dialers - but -

still having the same problems, at the moment, the only way i can get around it is to use a different ntl proxy, so, could it be a problem with the cambridge (or whatever it is i use here in ipswich) proxy server?.

oh well, such is life.

Try BHODemon from this site. (http://www.definitivesolutions.com/bhodemon.htm)

"A Browser Helper Object, or BHO, is just a small program that runs automatically every time you start your Internet browser. Usually, a BHO is installed on your system by another software program. For example, Go!Zilla, the downloading utility, installs a BHO created by Radiate (formerly Aureate Media); this BHO tracks which advertisements you see as you surf the Web."
