is their a process I can do to get my friends internet working without the ntl setup cd on his Mac (OS9)?

Its a first time registration.

registration without the cd is...as far as i'm aware the same on a mac is is on a pc....
connect up the ethernet lead... and all being well you should have a pre reg IP address which will allowyou to browse to the autoreg site

just make sure u've selected the dhcp option in network connections

serial numbers are for a stb....ntl-ct8-cb487 and a modem....ntl-ct8-cj486

what do I do if its not pickin up a 10.*.*.* IP address? it keeps gettin a 196 or a 192 (cant remember at the mo) IP address. So I cant connect on to the registration page.

no, he has the samsung set top box - network cable of which is from ntl going from that box to the ethernet on his mac
