It is my understanding that part of the EA service doesn't include a league feature.

I will however set up a league and run it if anyone fancies it.

The game comes out at the end of October.

Thinking minimum of 8 people, ideally have a full 20 so we can run a premiership with everyone allocated random team.

Post below if you're interested.

Don't post stuff about PES3, I know it is good but it doesn't include online play which should be a must nowadays, I wasn't a great FIFA fan till I played it online on the PC.

As I said, online footie will be the reason for me to buy a ps2 network adapter. Count me in. When's release?

I'll be buying a PS2 BB adaptor just for FIFA, count me in too.

So is there just online matches with no rankings?

I believe there will be rankings but no tournaments.

Release date seems to have come forward a couple of weeks to the 17th October.

Just need confirmation that there is in game chat. I suppose it means I need to buy SOCOM for the headset?

Maybe I'll wait for SOCOM2 in April. Presumably Zipper will be bundling their headset again with it. It sounds like they've learned not to allow 56kers in the US for the next one and maybe, just maybe, they'll figure out not to let cheaters abuse the system and the AI will be smarter than a sack of potatoes in the offline play. :D

So here's me crazily thinking that they would bundle the headset with what I expect to be a greatly improved Socom2. Apparently not (see http://www.gamespy.com/previews/october03/socom2multips2/ which has a promising preview), what a bunch of dumb-@sses.

Now I have no choice, but to buy the original to be able to communicate using the ps2 online. Perhaps I'll just wait till Socom2 is released and hope that the cost of SOCOM/headset drops around that time.

Well, FIFA is out this coming out this Friday.

I'll let everyone have a play about for a week or so and then look into organising a NTHW league if we still have the numbers.
