Hi all,
I have a small number (boo!) of Tesco shares i want to flog - however im not sure how to do it. I realise there are a lot of sites online that allow share trading, but they all want me to sign up and deposit cash etc to allow me to trade.

But all i want to do is flog some shares?

Any advice or places to go that you know off

could go into your local Halifax or other bank or B/Society. Most have a share dealing service. I beleive it costs a minimum of £10 per transaction

Might want to read through
http://www.tesco.com/everylittlehelps/downloads/TescoCR_BAYE.pdf
but they seem to use Lloyds TSB so you may want to pop in there and ask.

Your bank should be able to do it. Usually they charge about £15.

If you want a free online trader, go to http://www.iwebsharedealing.co.uk/ - you can open a free account, deposit your certificate, sell the shares and get a electronic transfer to your bank.

Are you / were you a tesco ee? They may well have an arrangement with one of their house brokers such as ML to do this for you.

If not the best advice is on their website.
http://www.tesco.com/corporateinfo/
Chose Shareholder Info / Sharholder services / Buying Selling Transferring.

you could also try your local Citizens Advice Bureau to see if any Independent Financial Advisors in your area offer stockbroking services - just to check who will charge you the smallest fee ;)

No you cant - i went there before but they want 100 quid to register... Screw that. Looking at the other options now.

Thanks guys - i went to www.fool.co.uk (Motley Fool) for some advice and they put me onto www.comdirect.co.uk who seem to be pretty good.

I set up an account there and i'll wait and see what happens next.

Thanks.

I've been with them a long time, so I haven't looked at the register page for a long time! :( Technically it's a float afaik, but if you only want to sell it's not much good.
