Ok - NTL broadband, have a Linksys WAP54g - and the power supply has died - reason why I know that as daughter dropped something on it and now it dont work.

So - need a new powersupply. I understand the power supply is a 5volt 2.5Amp - any chance you can pikc these up from say Maplins or Argos?

Your best bet is to get a multi-voltage adaptor, thing is i dont think most do 5v but 4.5 and 6 either side of it, you could try 4.5 i guess, but if that isnt enough power to kick it into life, you COULD try 6 *DISCLAIMER - If you blow it up with 6 it isnt my fault!!!* OR you could add a resistor into the equation if youre brave enough!

Try phoning Linksys (sorry, not Belkin at all) to see how much a replacement is.

Chances are that something has been knocked loose inside.

Can it be opened & repaired perhaps? (what I'd do but I know how).

I'll have a gander for a replacement.

ere (http://www.ardelectronics.com/order/display.asp?prod=300-00152) you go althought the plug may not be correct.

or from here (http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=20691&TabID=1&source=15&WorldID=&doy=13m4) model PJ85G
or here (http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=35945&TabID=1&source=15&WorldID=&doy=13m4) model N92AT however these are £20+ so maybe not the best options.

Maybe try For all Linksys UK Power Supplies or spares enquiries please call 01493 748904 or email sales@isomicro.com

Phone Linksys - £20 inc delivery - which is 50% of the cost of a new one

May have to look at these

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=11384&TabID=1&source=15&WorldID=&doy=13m4

or one from Argos

Can you try to claim on the 3 year warrantee that Linksys operate? You can't be sure that the impact caused or exacerbated the problem..

Hmm, start a small fire inside the casing, sue Linksys for damage to room set on fire due to PSU exploding into ball of flames.

Get new PSU at same time.

There, simple. :D

Deduct cost of replacement item, including unavoidable upgrade to current model, from daughter's pocket money. That'll teach her. ;)
